VELIKI ODMOR

Veliki Odmor is a musical quintet from Novi Sad, Serbia, crafting atmospheric rock with ethnic motifs that bridges ancient mysticism with contemporary darkness.

Originally formed in 2001, the band began as the creative vision of founding members Goran Engert (vocals/lyrics), Dalibor Gajinov (composition), Igor Stepanović (guitar), Pavle Beronja (bass guitar), and Dejan Milinković (drums). The early years saw the band developing their unique sound through intensive songwriting and the creation of their first demo material.

In 2007, the band entered an improvised studio in Grigovac, Fruška Gora, to record demo songs that would later be written. This period marked a significant evolution in their sound, as they refined their approach and continued their activities beyond the band's core work.

After a period of reformation in 2014, vocalist Goran Engert and guitarist Dalibor Gajinov decided to revive the band and continue their musical journey. The renewed lineup welcomed new members including guitarist Milorad Smiljanić (replacing Igor Stepanović), bassist Igor Konecky, and drummer Zoran Divinić.

Today, Veliki Odmor continues to explore the intersection of civilization and decay, drawing inspiration from Egyptian mythology, cosmic symbolism, and the eternal struggle between light and shadow. Through releases like "Suton Civilizacije," "Anubis," and "Sve Četiri Strane Sveta," we invite listeners into a sonic journey across the four corners of existence.
